The puzzle pieces are there because we are solving puzzles. The pieces overlay on different planes because we peer beyond the surface through testing, visualizations, and deconstruction, examining the problem from various angles and vetting each hypothesis.  

The puzzle pieces and colors convey a broader concept: each individual is unique and has a place in a mosaic that forms a beautiful picture, more than the sum of its parts. However, this picture is incomplete when a single piece is missing, whether it is noticed or not.
